I am calling this project "Skiing" because it was a picture I took while skiing. The subject is a ski lift based off of a ski lift. I chose to create this specific work because it had a lot of different shades and tints. For materials I used a scratch board, and the scratching materials. I used a variety of techniques and methods including cross-hatching and shading. While creating this project I paid close attention to making the shades and tints accurate by keeping the original photo next to it. I wanted my artwork to look overall accurate to the original picture and I also did that by keeping it next to the original picture. To add interest to my composition I used pattern in the scratching to create the different whites and grays. I liked the way it turned out and I am proud of the ski lift. However I struggled with the trees. If I created another work like this I may add more trees. My work shows that I learned how to make tints and shades by scratching.
