Linoleum Prints

Artist Statement:

I'm calling my extended print night sky because it is the mountains with a night sky background. The subject is a bench and mountain based off of my linoleum print. I chose to create this specific work because I liked that it includes nature. For materials I used my linoleum print, ink, water color, and colored pencil. I used a variety of techniques including printing. While creating this work I paid close attention to the quality of my print by making a lot of different ones and choosing the best print. I wanted my artwork to look interesting and I did that by adding a lot of color. To add interest to my composition I used the watercolor by making it textured to look like a starry night. I liked how it turned out and I am proud of my print. However I struggled with the multi colored print. If I created another work like this I might use a different not traditional background. My work shows that I learned how to make a linoleum print.
