Im calling this project artist inspired because it is inspired by the artist Gustav Klimt and the movement Post Impressionism. The subject is a river and a barn based off of some of Gustav Klimt's paintings. I chose to create this work because it relates to Klimt because I used a lot of gold colors and it relates to post impressionism because there are obvious brush strokes mostly in the river and sky. For materials I used acrylic paint on canvas. I used a variety of techniques including blending so the colors go together. While creating this work I paid close attention to relating it to the artist and the movement by using the same techniques. I wanted my artwork to look colorful and I did that by making different shades of the same color. To add interest to my composition I used movement in the river by adding different colors. I like the way the sunset looks and I am proud of the trees. However I struggled with the dots for the ground. If I created another work like this I may used a different technique for the ground. My work shows that I learned how to make a painting and relate it to an artist and a art movement.
