The Swing of His Life
The Swing of His Life
In game 5 of the NLCS, the Phillies are up in the NLCSÂ
3-1. In the bottom of the eighth, down 3-2. Bryce Harper steps up to the plate against flamethrower Robert Suarez of the Padres.Â
The Philadelphia Phillies entered a wild card position just barely reaching the postseason, when entering the postseason they had a special player on the team….  Bryce Harper. Former MVP and Rookie-Of-The-Year. This team was special with Bryce on the team.
Bryce Harper was dealing with a bounce back injury season but was ready for the Phillies Postseason. Their schedule? Wild Card vs Cardinals….. Gone, NLDS vs Braves?..... Beat the Braves, in a split second the Phillies were on the verge of a National League championship Against the Padres In the NLCS and it came down to one swing. It's enough pressure already in a moment like this, but the postseason, AND in one of the most clutch moments of your career? There's no looking back now.
A quick Look in, Harper faced Suarez before in the series. Facing him he grounded into a double play. The thing is? Suarez has a pattern in his pitches, he’ll throw a Change-up and after that, big heat fastballs to get you swinging and missing. The pressures on him, and he gets a look at some pitches, but then,The pitch… a 99 mph fastball down and away, Harper swings…. It's silent for a little…. A liner, down the left field wall. It's… it's…. GONE!!  Â
The loud roar of the fans, the crack of the bat, the pitchers stare... Bryce Harper may not hit another home run like this.Â
