Have you ever tried to find something in the lost and found and failed miserably? I know people who have. And there are a couple of easy ways to fix it, including but not limited to; taking pictures of it to present on the announcements, adding shelves, and so much more!
Let’s start at the beginning; simply organizing the lost and found! Adding shelves and dividing it clearly into sections would be very helpful, such as jackets, hats, school supplies, etc. instead of just clumping it all into one big pile and expecting people to sort through it and find whatever they’re looking for.
Another way to fix this messy problem, (or possibly help out the shelf and section idea,) would be to take pictures every day of the lost and found and then put them onto the announcements, hopefully from different angles. Pictures could also be taken of new items that are added so people have a chance to go take their things before they are lost in the pile of stuff.
Finally, a couple of people could be put in charge of searching through the lost and found items, as things like jackets and school supplies often have names written on them. An email could then be sent to the student to go pick up their things at the lost and found. These are all the ways the messy problem of our disorganized lost and found can be solved!
