📰 Our second printed paper of the year is out!!!📰
By Ryan Fasano
Number 32
Tommy DeVito for the New York Giants
He has not won an NFL game in his career! And though he’s only played two games, he still only has 147 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He is HORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE!
Number 31
Jordan Love for the Green Bay Packers
Man, if the Packers had another QB, Jordan Love would be a benchwarmer again. He has eight interceptions so far this season. People were saying that Jordan Love will not be in a Packers uniform in 2025, but first they need to get someone. Jalen Hurts is on his last year with the Eagles, maybe he will be in a Packers uniform next season if they have the money.
Number 30
Zach Wilson for the New York Jets
Man, that Monday Night Football game vs the Los Angeles Chargers performance was awful. Wilson got sacked eight times, fumbled once, and threw two interceptions. Now, maybe if Zach Wilson did not have to deal with that Jets offense, he would be better. But from what we are seeing, Zach Wilson is a bum.
Number 29
Mac Jones for the New England Patriots
He is not good. I have heard so many excuses for how he plays: “Oh, this offense is not good;”
“He is pretty young, let him live up to his potential.” He is 25. He had three seasons to tell the world he is good. He has not done that. The only reason he is not the worst QB is that he has like four good games a season. Jordan Love has not even had one good game in his career, and Zach Wilson has had about three.
Number 28
Taylor Heinicke for the Atlanta Falcons
Taylor Heinicke started against the Arizona Cardinals. Now, not everyone will agree with me, but I think START DESMOND RIDDER. HE IS BETTER. I’ve seen Ridder make plays, he can get the ball in the right hands. Not like Heinicke, who is a sick joke. The only reason he was a starter on the Commanders was because his backup there was even worse than him.
Number 27
Tyson Bagent for the Chicago Bears
Bagent has not looked great, but I will give the man breathing room. He is a rookie and the Bears are horrible. Their offense is not good, their defense is only a little bit better. l wish Bagent had better stats. This year he’s had more picks than touchdowns and only 697 yards. Maybe the defense wouldn’t be so tired if he could keep the offense on the field longer.
Number 26
Deshaun Watson for the Cleveland Browns
Watson has not had a great season, with only 902 yards. I have always thought Watson was overrated, but he has been worse this season. Now, he is not horrible. He is just not putting up numbers, and he has been injured. But this Cleveland Browns team is doing well. I was not thinking that they would be knocking on the door for the playoffs. I would have to give him credit if he can lead this team to the playoffs when they were thought to be bad before this season.
Number 25
Baker Mayfield for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mayfield was not good enough on any team, and he is not good on this team. He has been on the Cleveland Browns, the Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Rams, and now with the Buccaneers. Luckily, he is not horrible and the Bucs are not horrible with Mayfield under center. The Bucs just beat the Titans without needing a fourth quarter.
Number 24
Aidan O’Connell for the Las Vegas Raiders
Okay, so I do not know why they want to start O’Connell. I think Garopolo would be number 21 on this list if O’Connell wasn’t starting. Now, O’Connell is not horrible, but I think Vegas lost the bet on this starting QB position. But he is young, so maybe, just maybe, Aidan O’Connell could be the QB of the future.
Number 23
Gardener Minshew for the Indianapolis Colts
We are seeing that Anthony Richardson, the Colts original starting QB, is missed after they ruled him out for the season with a leg injury. But Gardener Minshew is not horrible, he is just not the starter, and that’s why they’ve lost more games than they’ve won. Once Richardson gets back, the fans will be happier.
Number 22
Bryce Young for the Carolina Panthers
Now, I don’t like to rat on rookies, plus Young is this year’s first draft pick, but he has not had a good season so far. He only has one more touchdown than interceptions. Granted, the Panthers offense is as good as a bunch of baby turtles running around. Young only has Adam Thelin – the wrinkly old 33-year old who is probably going to retire next year – to pass to. And he has a good running back. Whoopee-dang-do. Unless you’re playing a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Denver Broncos, who are the worst at run defense in the league, then you’re not going to just run the ball and win. And their defense is, um, who? Derrick Brown. Who else? Ummm, yeah, I don’t know. The Panthers are a BAAAAD team, so we can give Bryce Young a bit of a break.
Number 21
Joshua Dobbs for the Minnesota Vikings
Everyone likes Joshua Dobbs. And then he goes to a different team. He is pretty good, though he played for the Browns a little bit. Then he went to the Arizona Cardinals, then the Minnesota Vikings. But everyone sees him as a bad QB. I don’t, because he has pretty good stats, but not better than the top 20.
Number 20
Kyler Murray for the Arizona Cardinals
FINALLY Murray’s coming back. Now, that does not mean he is going to sweep this team into playoff contenders, he’s not that good, but he is good enough to be a starting QB. Problem is, he gets injured a lot. Not surprising, considering their offensive line is as good as a fart bucket! But at least he is better than Clayton Tune, their backup QB.
Number 19
Will Levis for the Tennessee Titans
Okay, since Will Levis has not played much, let's look back to the Thursday night game against the Steelers (I am a big Steelers fan). Will Levis had a good first half, and they were in the driver's seat against Pittsburgh by halftime. But in the second half they only put up 3 more points for Tennessee and they let the Steelers get 13, and then Levis got desperate and gave up a game winning interception.
Number 18
Kenny Pickett for the Pittsburgh Steelers
Some people are wondering if I should have put Kenny Pickett earlier and my answer is NO. If Kenny Pickett was his first half stats, then I would agree with you, yes he would be like 30th. But if we were doing this based on his second half stats, he would be in the top 10. Since he is a mix of them, he is at 18. Look, you have to give him credit, he mostly finds a way to win games (in two of the Steelers losses he was injured in the second half).
Number 17
Russell Wilson for the Denver Broncos
Man, if we were doing this for the 2022 season, he would be 30th in the league, but he is doing way better than last year. 1,613 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions, and a 46.3 QB rating, I would say that is a plus. Last year he had only 16 touchdowns all season.
Number 16
Geno Smith for the Seattle Seahawks
Okay, so we’re halfway. Geno is half on the good side and half on the bad side.
There is talk of whether Drew Lock should be their starter. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Why don’t you let Geno Smith play? Drew Lock’s stats in his career: 20 interceptions, yeah, that's a lot for a guy who barely plays. For Geno Smith it is 55 but why stress that when you have played A MILLION MORE GAMES AND THERE’S ONLY A 35 INTERCEPTION DIFFERENCE. Man, Lock is bad, why would someone like Pete Carroll make this decision.
Number 15
Mathew Stafford on the Los Angeles Rams
Stafford had a thumb injury last game and is questionable against Seattle. If he can’t play it will be the veteran Carson Wentz that they picked up from the Commanders. I imagine the fans will want Stafford instead of Wentz. Earlier in the season he seemed like he could be a good candidate for this season’s MVP, but he is probably not now because his stats went down.
Number 14
Derek Carr for the New Orleans Saints
Look, the Saints are going to win their division. And they have won some games. They can sometimes destroy opposing defenses, but sometimes they get shelled. The Saints are on their bye next week, though, and their QB is injured, so the bye should be helpful.
Number 13
Sam Howell for the Washington Commanders
He can really throw the ball, and he has the second-most yards of any QB (he is behind Tua Tagovailoa). I like what I have seen, and he could make an impact in the future. He has wired well with this not-great Commanders team.
Number 12
Jared Goff for the Detroit Lions
Man, did this Lions team shock the world. They have found themselves an MVP-winner maybe, but definitely a top 15 QB. He has the 9th best QB rating, 2,174 yards, 12 TD’s, 5 INT’s. This guy is a winner and so is this Lions team. Sure, he has flopped some games like vs the Baltimore Ravens (38-6 final score), but this team and their QB is still good.
Number 11
Brock Purdy for the San Francisco 49ers
Purdy had an amazing first five games. Then his next three games? Not so much. He still could be in the running for MVP voting, though, if he can get back to playing like he did against the Cardinals. Against the Cardinals, he had a 95.3 completion percentage (that is one of the best). The first five weeks he had 1,251 yards, 5 wins, 9 TDs, 0 interceptions, and 8 sacks. But the last four games, he had five interceptions, six touchdowns, 991 yards, only one 1 win.
Number 10
Trevor Lawrence for the Jacksonville Jaguars
Two years ago, this team was the worst in the league. Now they’re leading their division with a good QB. They lost badly to the 49ers (34-3), but Lawrence is definitely an MVP candidate. He knows he can trust Travis Etienne Jr., who has 160 carries, 618 yards, 7 TDs, and a 3.9 yard run average. Lawrence and Etienne-zone have had a good season. Trust me, though, this Jaguars team will dominate the NFL.
Number 9
Justin Herbert for the Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers lost in a high-scoring game against the Lions, but Herbert did his job. It was the horrible bottom-ranked defense of the Chargers that did not do anything. (The best this Chargers D did was against the Jets, and the Lions offense is great.) Herbert had an amazing rookie year and his stats are good this year, and he does have a weapon named Keenan Allen. Hopefully, the Chargers defense starts to play as well as their offense.
Number 8
Dak Prescott for the Dallas Cowboys
Is he the best QB in the NFC? Prescott is definitely in the running, but we have seen that this Cowboys team can lose games, like the Eagles game where they got to feel like the Titans in the Super Bowl against the Rams. (“Dyson is ONE yard short so the Rams will win the Superbowl! One yard short! One yard short!”) Poor Cedee Lamb, who came up short against the Eagles, and poor Prescott for targeting him. But still, Prescott has stellar stats overall, and anyone can have a bad day.
Number 7
Joe Burrow for the Cincinnati Bengals
We were thinking that Burrow would be bad after post-injury decline, but Joe Cool must have said to himself, “I will get back to being the best,” and he is putting up stats to prove that. But this Bengals team is still last in the AFC north (5-4, to be fair), so he’s not in the top 5 this season.
Number 6
Josh Allen for the Buffalo Bills
Man, he has been a roller coaster. Allen leads the league in touchdowns, but he is in second place for INT’s (Mac Jones is first). Still, I think Allen is good, and an MVP maybe. This Bills team is not though, but at least he has Stefon Diggs to throw to.
Number 5
Jalen Hurts for the Philadelphia Eagles
This guy has returned to his old ways. He is a good player, and this Eagles offensive line could be like the HOGS in the 80’s for the Redskins, one of the best OLs of all time. This Eagles team is the best in the league definitely, and they should be able to win the Super Bowl if they can keep healthy.
Number 4
Lamar Jackson for the Baltimore Ravens
LAMAR, LAMAR, he is on his way to his second MVP. He is extremely athletic, and he can use his legs, but he does not have a lot of weapons. Still, he is completing passes, and this Ravens team is good.
Number 3
Tua Tagovailoa for the Miami Dolphins
Man, he had a lot of injuries last year, including three concussions. Now he is in the MVP race and it is clear that his 2022 breakout was not pretend. This offense is amazing. He leads this Dolphins team with good weapons to throw to and he’s fought through injuries.
Number 2
Patrick Mahomes for the Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is definitely a Hall of Famer and he is putting up numbers. Look, this guy was probably going to play baseball, considering his dad was a baseball player, but he tried QB and he loved it. And now he is the face of the NFL.
Number 1
CJ Stroud for the Houston Texans
Man, this guy already set a record: most rookie yards in one game with 270. Stroud is definitely rookie of the year at this point, and he is almost definitely MVP too. He has only ONE pick, ONE, and 14 TD’s. He could be the next face of the NFL.
