This is the full four panel mosaic of the Veil Nebula (or Cygnus Loop) in Cygnus, including NGC6960, NGC6974, NGC6979, NGC6992, NGC6995 and IC1340. It was imaged over 10 nights from July 22 to November 24, 2019 at Buford Mountain Conservation Area, Missouri. The images were taken with a Stellarvue SV80 apochromat, having a 0.8x focal reducer that resulted in a 384 mm focal length and F/4.8. The camera was a QSI 683wsg-8 cooled to -15C, with Astrodon generation II filters and off-axis guiding. The mount was a Losmandy G11G2 on a permanent pier. The system was controlled with Sequence Generator Pro 2 and PHD2 guiding software. Processing was done in PixInsight 1.8.8.
The total exposure duration was 36 hours 40 minutes to obtain 137 images grouped into the four panels: Ha (3 nm BW) - 29 x 30 min (binned 1x1); O3 (3 nm BW) 31 x 30 min (1x1); R – 26 x 5 min (2x2); G – 25 x 5 min (2x2); B – 26 x 5 min (2x2).
This is a close-up of NGC6992 on the eastern edge:
In the northwestern portion of the nebula is Pickering's Triangle, discovered by Williamina Fleming, but does not have a NGC designation.
This is the western section, NGC6960, or the "witch's broom." The bright star is 52 Cygni.
This is an annotated view of the field.
