This image is a two panel mosaic of the northern section of the Veil Nebula in Cygnus, including NGC6960, NGC6974, NGC6979, NGC6992, NGC6995 and IC1340. It was imaged over five nights from July 22 to August 4, 2019 at Buford Mountain Conservation Area. The images were taken with a Stellarvue SV80 apochromat, having a 0.8x focal reducer that resulted in a 384 mm focal length and F/4.8. The camera was a QSI 683wsg-8 with Astrodon generation II filters, with off-axis guiding. The mount was a Losmandy G11G2 on a permanent pier. The system was controlled with Sequence Generator Pro 2 and PHD2 control software. Processing was in PixInsight. The total exposure was 17 hours 30 minutes: Ha and O3 (3 nm BW) - 14 x 30 min (binned 1x1); R – 14 x 5 min (2x2); G – 14 x 5 min (2x2); B – 14 x 5 min (2x2).
The image resolution is 2.9 arc seconds/pixel centered on RA: 20 51 25.121 Dec: +31 27 34.97. The brighter star at the lower right (southwest) is 52 Cyg.
Below is an annotated image at half-resolution.
