2008 Vic Open Championship
The 2008 Victorian Open Championship will be held on the Queens Birthday weekend June 7, 8, and 9.
The tournament will held at 3 Rochester Road Canterbury and will be organised by the Box Hill Chess Club

The 2008 Championship will be organized by the Box Hill Chess Club on behalf of Chess Victoria
Venue
The venue is located at 3 Rochester Road Canterbury and is within 5 minutes walk from Canterbury Station.
The venue is close to the famous Maling Road shops
There is ample parking nearby

The tournament organisers have yet to appoint
the arbiter
Grand Prix registration
The tournament has been registered as a class 3 grand prix tournament

Rate of Play: 90 minutes per player per game plus 30 seconds per move from move one
Ratings: Nationally rated and FIDE rated
Prize giving:
June 9 at 18.00
Entry Fees:
$65 less $15 early bird discount if paid by May 30.
Free entry for Grand Masters and International Masters
provided their entries are received during the early bird entry period
Entry conditions:
Open to all members from CV affiliated clubs, as well as Interstate, and international visitors and non members of affiliated clubs
prepared to pay a $10 registration fee.

Closing of Entries
Entries will close at 10.30 on Saturday morning at the venue.
All entries must be accompanied by the required entry fee
Prize Fund
A prize pool of $3999 minimum including a $1200 first prize will be offered.
There will be ratings prizes in eight divisions.
Prize money is shared between eligible players on equal points
