2021 CV Junior Rapid

2021 CHESS VICTORIA JUNIOR RAPID CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

Schedule: Sunday 18th April 2021

Time: 11:15 am registration for 12:00pm start.

Playing Venue: Glen Waverley Secondary College School. O'Sullivan Road, Glen Waverley VIC 3150

Tournament: 7 Round Swiss

Rate of Play: 15 minutes per person.

Under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 Open and Girls

Note: Some age groups may be required to be combined if there are insufficient numbers. Awarding of trophies will be according to the ACF by-law

Eligibility: This competition is open to players

a) born from 2003 or after

b) have played in any 2020 Chess Victoria Zonal Interschool Chess Championship or have an ACF (Australian Chess Federation) classical or rapid rating in the March ACF 2021 rating list

Prize Giving: at about 4:30 pm

Entry Fee: $25 plus admin fee via TryBooking https://www.trybooking.com/BQAHS

Entry closes on Saturday 3 pm 17th April 2021 or when the maximum number is reached due to COVID restrictions

Pairings will be completed for all divisions and emailed to all players on Saturday 17th April night

Age-Group: The Open and Girls only tournaments will be separate tournaments.

· For girls, they can elect to play in the Girls only or open tournament but not both.

· For boys and girls, they can elect to play in an older age-group.

Divisions available:

Age Divisions:

· Under-18 : Year of birth 2003 or after

· Under-16: Year of birth 2005 or after

· Under-14 : Year of birth 2007 or after

· Under-12 : Year of birth 209 or after

· Under-10: Year of birth 2011 or after

· Under-8 : Year of birth 2013 or after

Drop off by parents/ guardians (from 11:15 am):

· Public Parking – enter from Snedden Drive

· Enter via Sneddon Drive car park

· Please drop off for junior players at the entrance of the building (there will be signs on the day directing you)

· A COVID Officer will be asking a few questions regarding the player’s health.

· Please scan the QR code to register attendance at the tournament. If you are unable to scan the code, a manual record will be available for you to fill in.

· Parents or visitors will not be allowed to in the building.

· Players will be told which room they will be allocated to play their 1st round game

· Parents can pick up the players at the end of the tournament
