2020 CV Junior Blitz Tournament

Division: (Boys and Girls in same Division): Those born from 2002 or later.

Eligibility: This individual competition is open to players who:

a. are born in the years mentioned above, and

b. have scored at least 4.5 points (top 30%) in any Chess Victoria Zonal Interschool Chess Championship 2019 or have an ACF (Australian Chess Federation) classical or rapid rating in the ACF 2019 December rating list.

c. Players are only allowed to win the trophy in the Division.

Tournaments:

1. U18 - (year of birth 2002 or later)

2. U12 - (year of birth 2008 or later)

Boys and girls are combined in the above 2 tournaments

Format: 11 Round Swiss Tournament

Time Control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment from move 1.

Prizes: Trophies and cash prizes.

Date: Sunday 5^th April 2020.

Time: 11:30am registration for 12:00pm start. Prize giving at about 4:00 pm.

Venue: Glen Waverley Secondary College, O’Sullivan Road, Glen Waverley.

Public Parking: enter from Snedden Drive

Competition Format: (Organised by Chess Victoria)

a. The Individual Swiss system of 11 rounds will be used for the 2 competitions.

b. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 individual players in each division of U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 boys and girls according to the ACF by-law.

c. Cash prizes to be determined.

Closing date: Saturday 4^th April 2020 or when the field becomes full. (NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE DAY OF PLAY - Sunday 5^th April)
