WRIISC IS A VA MEDICAL RISK ASSESSMENT TO INCLUDE ANY VETERAN WITH MEDICAL PROBLEMS THAT CAN NOT BE EXPLAINED

I have personally been flown out to the WRIISC in East Orange, New Jersey after filling out their application and submitting my medical records for a medical evaluation. The front desk coordinator is Josette and is very nice to work with. The physical exam is done by Lidia Patrick-DeLuca MSN,RN, APN-C, a very pleasent, and extremely thoughtful in her medical evaluation. Dr. Sheila Butler is a pathologist who is the environmental toxin evaluation physcian. Dr. Butler will try to find evidence of your chemical exposure but, only in the ATSDR.

We have been told that there are few human studies for exposure to the Titan II Aerozine 50-50 / Inhibited Red Fuming Nitric Acid and all their breakdown chemicals when exposed to atmosphere/dilution (in order to pump the diluted spills topside). Dr. Sheila Butler will not take into consideration any documentation from the USAF or The Space and Missile Systems Health and Safety Department saying the fuels cause tumors as they are not specfic enough to the type of tumors. Dr. Butler will not take into account the statistical rarity of the tumors you have. In other words if you have two tumors, and one is 0.1% of all bone tumors found in humans and the other tumor is 1.5% of all Adrenal Tumors in humans, she will not look at the statistical probability of you having those two rare tumors with no underlying medical connection. This troubles me that no probabilities are being used in evaluation of toxic chemical exposures. For the medical profession not to use statisics as a tool in determining toxic exposure while citing statisical numbers on different drug effectiveness and aliments in the human population is just not being consistant. I think an actual toxicologist on staff with the pathologist is required to evaluate human toxic chemical exposure. This was the suggestion of the 1962 USAF 392 Aerospace Medical Groups suggestion (read the report under Titan Fuel Studies). That has not been accomplished to date.

This organization has its heart in the right spot.
