Most broadcasters and writers come across 'the attitude' -- a deep resentment for what you do, especially if its controversial, and make every attempt to get it removed, stopped or prevented from seeing the light of day. And this is the case when they desperately want the truth from being revealed, and I have found that the reason in several projects that I embarked upon over the past few years.
When I was doing a programme called 'Pick 'n' Mix' a show that combined music interviews, music and a topic, the topic on occasions was not welcome. I did one on a local builder, only to find that Checkatrade would not be happy, and I was asked to drop the piece mentioning Checkatrade despite the fact that I had a decent file on this organisation backed by the Beeb Watchdog (It came to light that they made a donation to the Selsey Radio Station). My programme was to reveal the builder (MWM) had been selecting the reviews to suit himself and narrowed the field of complaints, with the blessing of Checkatrade whom he was paying around £600 to be on the register that claimed he was a trusted trader. He was a one man band, picking up other individuals with no accredited skills that a client could be sure of. As for reliability and quality all my enquiries pointed to the contrary. Several months later he dropped out of the business? one wonders how those guarantees stood up?
Treachery, not entirely uncommon, but little expected when I was involved with the Selsey Radio. One of the directors (who was also a local councillor) turned coward mostly when he decided to back one of his fellow colleagues over a show I did. Yet this same individual saw himself as a producer and editor, and even though it was my production company turning out new ideas and shows, I let him keep that thought. More of a concern was his talks with me and another to break away and do a new radio whilst still holding his position in the Selsey Podcast Station and he often claimed we could form a new production company, and led me to believe he was one of the good guys, the only one really, because I had doubts about the third member which came true when I resigned. What made things worse, was his immediate and underhand actions to stop the show from being broadcast. This involved threats to South Waves among other things just as unsavoury, which definitely showed his true colours.....truly despicable!
I did a radio piece and article on a prominent solicitor who was rather 'untouchable' and he told me so himself at one stage. I researched him and discovered he was blocking my way to an old case that eventually revealed an old couple, their property and a riddle involving 'a conflict of interests' Even though he warned me off I was able to talk to the couple who explained that they needed around £10,000 to pursue a case against the solicitor, which they didn't have. Cover-up wasn't the word for the next part, it was collusion and a deliberate attempt to avoid taking this lawyer to the criminal court. The local area would not entertain going after him despite the fact they agreed he'd acted unlawfully, and unfortunately the solicitor still works and the old couple cannot go further!
When I came to doing this show, a much needed satirical spoof, showing the bad side of community so called nice folk, I was accosted by one woman who flew at me saying 'I'd be for it' and making threats, to which she later denied outright. One mysterious individual tells the magazine distributors that they cannot deliver the magazine carrying our advert to the people in the 'Close' which it isn't. One man has no authority to stop such a thing, and who's behalf was he working for? These people are there to stifle and hinder free speech and silence the truth at all costs, and they do it by threats and intimidation.
We may not be in the magazine now, but that is of no worry as that person nicely steered us to the Web and Internet, a bigger playground and International stage, which we are very pleased about. The common enemy is 'censorship' and it often hides secrets and other unpleasant realities.
It would have certainly been the case of trying to pull my show 'TO THE POINT' if I had not been with Jamie and SouthWaves Radio. As I recently exposed lawyers over a period of three shows using confidential material and e-mails to get the facts that were deemed 'not in the public interest' The First show told of The Gomm Case, and a property and land grab by barristers, nearly 70 in all in a secret case provided by a very disgruntled whistleblower lawyer. The second show dealt with part 2 the Baxendale Case involving the High Court, alias names, lawyers and the HMRC, and the secret Blatt and Calvert Case involving the legal eagles and skulduggery. And more recent, show 3 involving the Emma Margaret Coates Case, the fraud, the details never mentioned, and a fourth player...and I was on the trail of Emma Coates in 2013. This still throws up a mystery.....and I guess several locals in Selsey would have tried to stop me if they could.
Many films and plays are based on an amount of reality and fact, and they could not be written if it were not for observations, and that is what our spoof does, and anyone wanting it stopped show they have something to hide.....and just what is it they are anxious to prevent being shown and said?
I think the fact that this spoof and its characterisation mirror images the society of today is indicative of the desire to cover-up and prevent reality by those involved....... and the cast is many!
THE TRUTH IS RARELY ACCEPTABLE...........when a lie is more profitable.
