FOR EACH EPISODE THERE IS A CENTRAL STORY LINE AND THEME:
Episode 1. 'THE COVER-UP'
This pilot episode dealt with the members of the Large Acres Triangle who instigated a cover-up for Fatman Captain Nelson and his drinking problem. The main characters shielded Nelson as he was seen more than once driving under the influence of drink on his arrival into the Acres. It was even widely known that this was also known by his pals at the football club who would see him drive home in this state. So instead of deplore his conduct, the members of the 'Triangle' covered it up.
EPISODE 2. 'THE VAT SWINDLE'
In this episode, the scene involved a builder who supplied knocked off stuff to the site as he carried out work to a Large Acres resident. It also featured a sub plot where undercover police were staking out a bungalow and after several hours arrested the man at the house. This led to protests by the Triangle, but one member Captain Nelson was rather apprehensive with the attention, and as soon as they'd gone rushed out stuff from the garage and into his van. Helped by the two sons he got it out of the way. In the meantime wicked Witch Annie was showing interest in 'minor' matters.
EPISODE 3. 'THE POISON PEN LETTERS'
This episode was a lesson in viciousness, as the members of the 'Triangle' plotted to rid themselves of an intruder to their clique way of life. Witch Annie armed with mis-truth from Poser Prince Will Hyams began a rumour designed to belittle and spared no expense in spreading the gossip. It didn't matter to them that they actually knew very little, and they went out of their way among the residents to make sure that he was ignored and 'sent to Coventry' It was also a fact that Poser Prince had run out another person several years earlier?
EPISODE 4. 'CAPTAIN NELSON'S BOOZE RUN'
This was the 'marine' plot which involved smuggling by Fatman Captain Nelson, aided and abetted by his two sons. Not satisfied with duty free allowance, the fatman arranged for a secret cargo to be delivered by a small cabin cruiser anchored off the Helsey peninsula where there was a beach and sand (overlooked by the lifeboat station). Engaging in a pretence of late fishing, Nelson would collect a large booty of liquor and store it quickly into his wife's vehicle. Soon after it attracted the attention of a customs man, would this have any effect on the fatman?
EPISODE 5. 'PRISSY HAT AND THE CATALOGUE SCAM'
Everyone would like a bit of extra cash, but Prissy Hat the local tart had her sights on getting it via a scam involving the set up of a catalogue account and club. Although thought of by accident, Prissy Hat was quite a busybody 'look at me sort' that assumed airs and graces. The scam developed after losing an order, and it became evident that refunds were not too difficult to acquire. After due thought and with others, they set out to order items, lose them, and claim compensation. Of course, where does one stop if you're like Prissy Hat? after all, she's the bell of the ball and wants you to know it.
EPISODE 6. 'THE BAKERSMAN AFFAIR'
Happily married? or just merely faking it because you've got a bit on the side. The Bakersman with his fake smile and big car has a secret that is about to be revealed. With his constant disappearances for a day or so every week, running for months being ignored by the 'Triangle' he is spotted on the Emsworth road to Havant with another woman who was certainly not his wife according to eye-witness Digby, not just once but twice, and on that occasion sped away quickly when seen. What of the wife? and what is this thing going on with Witch Annie who has her attention on 'minor' matters of the Harry Potter variety.
EPISODE 7. 'THE TIGHTWADS MYSTERY'
This deals with the cornerstone of The Large Acres Triangle, the secret residents who hold no values of charity or goodwill, yet call taxis and expensive hire while owning up to three cars. Their transactions in daily business are finally revealed as the scandal of a stocks and shares fiddle come to light amid the investigation of trader dealings are being carefully analysed. Interpol has shown an interest in the city banker and his journeys and meetings, and just what are those cases containing? Will the net tighten and will the Tightwads be found out for what they are?
EPISODE 8. 'CAPTAIN NELSON'S NEW SCAM (The Fatman's Fiddle)'
Never too far from another swindle or caper, the notorious drinks problem Captain runs into a bit of trouble as word gets round that he's been selling off pilfered items from his employers over a long period in order to satisfy the needs of his pals at the football club. Being a nautical man and in Aqua Marine supplies, the men who have boats are keen to have cheaper items, and that is achieved by the Fatman Captain who knows how to buy friends, and the guys at the club aren't pleased to know that rumours are arousing suspicions. Can the Fatman bluff his way out of this tight spot? or is it too much for his diet to bear!
EPISODE 9. 'THE WITCHES BROOD' (aka - Annie's Boys/Witches Brew)
Maureen gets more concerned about the antics of wicked Witch Annie, especially the 'minor' problem of boys, and wonders whether a CRB check should have been carried out, especially as she shows more interest in someone else's boy. What is it behind this interest and what of the gifts and trips? Can our duo of detectives figure this conundrum out, and what of the do-gooders and the other boys...this and more is revealed as its not just her foul mouth and broomstick concerns our heroes, have they now found out who aids the members and assists the tactics of the Triangle? is this a larger problem than first thought?
EPISODE 10. 'MUCH ADO ABOUT SOMETHING'
Things widen in scope as Ernie and Maureen look into the goings on in and around Hellsey and the Triangle. Why did the bent lawyers of Hellsey last nearly 8 years and who supported them in the community? Why was Hellsey the right place to carry out the fraud? Who else knew? and why did they cover it up?
What's the monopoly game of car parking in the Triangle and who gets to play it? and is Fatman Captain Nelson in league with Will Hyams, and what of the land grab they tried to cover up?
Are the others in Large Acres as innocent as they make out and want you to believe, or is it part of the devious plot controlled by the Large Acres Triangle?
EPISODE 11. 'THE POSER PRINCE PAYS OUT'
Ernie finally reveals the more sinister aspect of the Poser Prince Will Hyams, revealing a dark and callous side to the real leader of the Large Acres Triangle. Although Maureen has long thought that this was the fatman Captain Nelson, she is soon to learn that the Poser Prince continues in his belief he can do as he likes and run roughshod over anyone he chooses, he finally comes unstuck with a problem he failed to see coming because of his arrogant nature. The Poser Prince must make a decision to compensate before he is forced to attend court, and will he make an out-of-court settlement to keep the incident quiet?
EPISODE 12. 'LIARS AND CHEATS'
In this final episode Ernie and Maureen take a look at the villains and what they are doing to continue with their evil ways. They also revel un-aired case material that shows the nastiness of the Poser Prince Will Hyams and his attempt to vent his fury on a pensioner who accused him of deceitful actions. And will wicked Witch Annie continue her spell binding on the young boy? Plus other strange things happening in the Large Acres Triangle that are beyond belief besides another look at Fatman Captain Nelson and others who turn Hellsey into a place that the visitor must beware of....and will there be a second series?
EPISODE 13. 'WHERE EVIL FOLK THRIVE'
In this special bonus episode -- its twice the evil when another Triangle is discovered in Hellsey. Is the mixture of drugs and youth visiting The Large Acres when Police bust a major drug operation in the area? Is poser Prince out to make mischief and does the Witch Annie have something similar in mind after losing her grip on the favourite boy....and what about the in-breeding revelation? is this one of the factors in the clues to why the Large Acres Triangle exists.......this and more.
EPISODE 14. 'POSERS, PONCES AND SYCHOPHANTS'
In this new episode we find Ernie and Maureen looking into the serious case of embezzlement involving the Prince of Large Acres and a key member of the Triangle, Will Hyams. The net closes as the Poser Prince tries to conceal his activities and frustrate the investigation concerning bogus employees and a company invented to hold the loot. Fatman Captain Nelson continues to aggravate and rack up the tension in the Triangle while Witch Annie keeps a tight hold on her favourite. What of the Tightwads? The Do-Gooders? Is the lurking evil that pervades the Triangle going to give up its secrets?
EPISODE 15. 'THE WITCH HUNT BEGINS'
As Maureen gets more upset at reports of more child abuse in society and sees another local paedophile jailed --a chance meeting with a friend,Mary, former officer with a Children's Welfare Committee who works in the Citizens Advice Bureau introduces her to Cyril, and the case of Witch Annie raises more than just questions as alarm bells ring out. Both Ernie and Maureen realise the hunt is now officially on! Will the truth finally be revealed?
EPISODE 16. 'THE DECEIVERS EXCEL'
In this new episode Ernie and Maureen look into the case of the Midnight Hour Intruders. Who were the two teens who appeared to run off and out of Large Acres on being discovered? And what connection had the peculiar case of the Do-Gooders boy who emerged from his house two hours later at 3 am and went in the same direction of the intruders have with Witch Annie, was he one of the Intruders? and did the Witch persuade him to do something to the new-comers? All this and more will be revealed as our two detectives unravel the mystery of the two thieves. or worse? What were they up to?
EPISODE 17. 'A ROUGH SEA AHEAD'
Ernie and Maureen are now realising that a leopard does not change its spots as they uncover another darker scam involving the Nelson family as Fatman Captain Nelson knows no boundaries to his evil as he connects with the world of people users who are forced to carry out work that yields a profit for the dastardly Fatman and his low morals. Amidst this, it becomes apparent that the awful antics of the arrogant Large Acres Triangle go on without any change in sight. Plus a round up of other news in the damned village of the secretive operators in Hellsey who benefit from their misdeeds.
EPISODE 18. 'THE STENCH OF EVIL IS HERE'
As we approach the penultimate episode in series two, Ernie and Maureen realise that The Large Acres Triangle harbours a dark secret from its past, and only by accident do they stumble upon it and what it means? And what of the strange goings-on at the Do-Gooders house, does Witch Annie have a hand in what the Brood are up to? And finally, will the others show their true colours when the evidence of their callous acts become common knowledge to outsiders beyond their control!
EPISODE 19. 'TARTS AND TRICKSTERS'
Our next to last episode involves our detective heroes in a double dilemma as in the first case we find the Fatman Captain Nelson involved in something rather awful and the Law failing in their duty to do anything about him despite the danger he poses to the public. Are the Triangle regulars and Large Acres folk doing nothing because he's their friend? In the second major tale we have the resurgence of Prissy Hat as she once more hits the old ground and begins the catalogue scam yet again with a new crew and another district where she feels she is safe from the authorities? We have these two and more of course!
