June 27, 2019, Why Doesn’t God Make It Easy?
We grow stronger spiritually and emotionally when we persevere through difficulty, but why doesn’t God supernaturally make us stronger? Why do we have to suffer through all that difficulty to get strong?
I don’t understand completely, but I think a big part of it is connected to free will.
God wants us to choose to do good, even when it’s difficult.
If it’s easy, it’s not much of a choice.
If he makes us strong to choose good supernaturally, it’s not really our free will. It’s God’s actions.
It’s good for us to grow strong by making good choices through struggle.
It’s good for us to recognize our weakness and humbly seek help from God and others.
God must do what’s good.
Taking away our free will, even reducing it by making it easy, isn’t good, so God can’t do that.
If you struggle to do good, take comfort in this—the greater your struggle to do good, the greater value you achieve when you choose to do good.
