Friday October 18th

We decided to head north again, this time to Clearwater. We initially thought that if we went on Friday we'd miss the weekend crush - however this was not the case. The main car park was full already and we ended up in one of the car parks further away.

Into Clearwater

I did mean we had a longish walk down to the main area. We went there first so we could get our tickets for the Sea Screamer - it's a big speedboat that takes you out on the gulf and normally attracts dolphins.

We got our tickets then headed back to the car to get our stuff - cold bag, umbrella, chairs etc. We set ourselves up near the edge of the sand and had some lunch and read some more. It was after almost two hours that Linda, who had been in the sun whilst I was under the umbrella, started complaining of the heat. Indeed it was very very humid. The car temperature reader later said it was 85'F and that was later in the afternoon.

Hot even on the way home

So, as it was about time to go for our boat ride, we packed out stuff back into the car and headed back to the dock. We were first to arrive there, so we had the chance to pick our favourite seats at the back of the boat.

The dolphins were a little bit hesitant to join the boat but they did join us in the end. I got a couple of shots of them jumping out, but I've had better in previous years.

Once back off the boat, we headed straight back to the car - air con on full blast and he headed back to home. Actually, we stopped off about 10 minutes from home to grab some sunset shots as we wouldn't make it back to the apartment before it was set. This time we stopped on the Causeway outside of Anna Maria Island.

Once home it was into the shower to clean the sweat off and to sit in comfort for a while.
