Florida Oct 2012

Something a little more relaxing.

Back to Florida once more - but this time it's not a multi stop holiday. Rather, we are staying longer in two locations - Anna Maria and Sanibel Island

The first day will be in Orlando itself somewhere - hotel yet to be booked. The last couple of days will be on Disney at the Port Orleans Riverside resort.

Sun 30th Sept

We are trying to get a Priceline deal on our first hotel as it's just for a one night stop. So far we've bid a cheeky £30 and a more reasonable £40 but been rejected for both.

The average is supposed to be £104 for the area we are looking at, so I'm guessing we'll be accepted around £60. Still, we have a few more attempts before it get's squeaky bum time!

Mon 1st Oct

Got accepted on the Priceline bid. We've been given one of the gold resort hotels: Omni Orlando Resort At Champions Gate. Final cost £59 including the Priceline fees. Pretty good deal, plus it's in an area where we haven't stayed before so it's an opportunity to try a new area.

11:15 arrived and it was then possible to do the on-line check-in. Tried it and it rejected, saying there was a problem with my ESTA details. I checked the status online and that said all was OK. Tried again - rejected. Called Virgin, they said check in tomorrow at the airport and bring proof of my ESTA application. Later in the afternoon, I suddenly came across a forum question on ESTA about children. This rang an alarm in my head as I'd only renewed MY ESTA form (back in August) but as I'd not got any reminder for Linda's ESTA it has expired and it was her part of the check-in that was failing! A quick application later and we were able to get checked-in! Phew.
