[16:19 PDT]

This morning we had the final of our pre-booked tours. This one was a two part tour. It once again started outside the Chinese Theatre. It was a 9am start, which meant that the crowds were a lot smaller outside the theatre.

Our guide was a guy called Danny, who introduced himself by complaining that he was tired after a very late night at the Emmys the previous evening. I initially thought he was a chauffeur in his normal day job. But to my surprise he's a celebrity photographer, although not a paparazzi he stressed - he was one of the guys who gets invited to the red carpet events to do the official photos.

We drove out to Beverly Hills and into the celebrity homes areas around there and Bel Air to have a look at the houses - although we mostly saw gates and Mexican gardeners!

We then moved on to the Sony Studios for a brief tour. Not much to see there except something that might be a set for DaVinci Code 2.

Towards the end of the trip, Danny returned and drove us up into the hills near the Hollywood sign and I took the opportunity of getting our photo taken by someone with some experience!

The last part of the day was a walking tour through the neighbourhood around the Chinese Theatre and El Capitain (the big Disney owned theatre here).

We've booked to see a show in the big Chinese theatre tonight. Ghost Town.

Just back from the file - not too bad really. Linda liked it. I think it would have made a good Christmas film. Was impressed with the theatre of course, even though it only had about a dozen people in it.
