Friday October 15th

[22:50 EDT]

With today being my birthday, we decided to get a breakfast out at the local IHOP. It's actually the first time we've gone out for breakfast this holiday. The weather has returned to sunshine after the blip yesterday - indeed, here's a TV forecast from this morning!

On returning to Banana Bay, I collected the trolley and we started packing up once more.

As we left for our next stop, I thought I'd programmed TomTom to skip the I75 and take some of the slower roads along the coast. However, after 20 minutes of driving, we started seeing cows and ranches. Tomtom had decided it was quicker to move inland instead.

Still, it was a nice drive and we had loads of time.

Finally we reached Sarasota, back on the coast once. Anna Maria Island wasn't much farther.

Unlike the Banana Bay Motel, this next place is actually an apartment - it's also the second most expensive place (on a per day basis) that we are staying at. The Sanibel place was number 1.

The place is over three floors, with the car park on the ground, living area and kitchen on the first floor, bedroom on the top. It's also facing West towards the sea.

Once unpacked, we moved over to the beach, crossing the road in between.

There we spent the remainder of the afternoon under the sun.

After the sun had set, we popped out to the local shops to get some supplies then picked up a take-away Chinese from a local store. A nice end to a nice birthday :)
