•Adrenaline hormone playing important role in survival response

FUNCTION:

•Increases blood flow to muscles, heart rate and Blood Sugar

ACTION:

•Produced in Adrenal Glands and some neurons of CNS 

•Frees up stored Fat as energy source

•Cortisol enhances Epinephrine synthesis 

•As Epinephrine increases Leptin levels are reduced

FACTS:

•Release of Epinephrine due to emotionally stressful events improves long term memory of event, proportional to importance...useful survival mechanism

•Epinephrine more pronounced on Muscle & Fat Stores than Glucagon (Cardiovascular rather than Metabolic), which is more pronounced on Liver Glycogen Stores

-More effective than Norepinephrine in conversion of Glycogen to Glucose

•Increases during exercise

•Increases with fear

•Foods that raise Epinephrine levels...
