-Brimi Swifteye reporting from the Harnkegger Games IV-
While some believed the second day of the Harnkegger Games could not possible be more thrilling than the first one, they would soon be proven wrong. This reporter, among many other dwarves, almost tore out his beard in excitement during the Gondamon sprint.
Unlike the previous day though no dwarves could be seen among the medal-winners of this event, which is rather peculiar as the event is commonly known as the "Dwarrow Sprint Relay" race. Volko, who had already one a Gold medal in the Harnkegger Race the day before, managed to grab another Gold for the hobbits, together with his relay partner, fellow hobbit Aubrietia. The silver medal was won by two time Harnkegger Ingebjorg and her hobbit relay partner Kikilaa. While two Rohirrim named Regnwald and Algundr honorably claimed the bronze medal.
Later that evening the much anticipated Harnkegger Sparring Tournament was held, with a record breaking attendance. Till late in the evening Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits, Men and Beornings battled for the five Gold Medals on offer, one for each weight-category. After a grueling line of match-ups the victors at last emerged, being Cuthdikc, Ragfir, Engli, Ashierah and Erkenbrond. Ashierah was later voted Tournament Best by the judges earning her a 1000 Tasty Pies and a handful of gold.
As we look at the leaderboard for these games so far, we notice that the Nation of Dwarves is still on top with 21 points, though they've lost some of their first day advantage to the men and hobbits (14 and 13 pints respectively). Yet, to everyone's surprise.... well most folk's surprise... *coughs* the elves are still to win a single medal! Could it be that my great grandfather was right all along... elves are pointless? Uhm... without points I mean of course. *chuckles*
