R2H3 Trail Trash #118

R2H3 #118 Trail Trash - Founder's Day

10 years is quite a while to do anything. A decade. A decade since the R2H3 was founded. And like everything, there are ebbs and flows.

It was a pleasant day to celebrate the decade. Eleven miscreants showed up at the GE Trails in West Rome to enjoy the day. Since it was Founders Day and there was no objection from Mismanagment, there was IPA in the beer cooler and the trail was zero dollars.

CBT and Hugh Heifer were off just minutes past 3PM. They entered the GE trails and split up to ensure a snare free adventure. First, the pack (including LuvBug69!) hit a quick BC9 before a deep dive into the trails. CBT led the pack around the GE Trail where some new bike tracks have been cut on the southwest side. Then across Lavender Drive behind the Bojangles and then across Redmond Circle to the beercheck where the first of two abandoned bicycles would be found. Trail led the pack around a power station and into the heavy shiggy along Technology Parkway before it hit the parking lot of the Harbin office building, crossed Technology and went back into the shiggy. Hugh made good use of an old overgrown roadbed before heading up into some high grass and then down in what would have been a swampy mess had it rained in the past week. It was at this point that we learned JackAss started picking up trail because lunch was not sitting right and he was left alone to commit his crimes against the environment.

The pack stayed in the shiggy before crossing back under a set of power lines and up to the gravel road that encircles the old quarry near the Spires. This eventually brought the pack across Little Dry Creek onto Berry property near Viking Trail. The hares took full advantage of Old Redmond Gap Road and the logging roads where Hugh cut through the shiggy between them before finding OnIn at the end of Legacy Drive.

Hugh and CBT were quickly joined by a curious man in blue but were able to quickly dispel any suspicion they had buried a body and it was lye on their hands.

The pack trickled in with Busted Cherry up front who would drink for going an extra 100 feet to get his 5 miles in and of course JackAss in the rear. The pack drank the cooler clean and suffered the usual down-downs and distractions from reality and then made for River Remedy where the hash picked up part of the tab.

So if you haven't heard, mismanagement positions have not been filled and therefore, the hash is switching to a Larrikins style. It will be up to the hare to decide what they want to do but they will have to make arrangements for trail and beer themselves.

It's been a good r*n R2H3!

Hashing is fun! See you on trail.
