The internet can be considered another world. In it, there are still rules to abide by. Hackers circumvent these rules and more often than not, cause chaos and wreak havoc for many people and establishments. Here are a few of the most infamous hackers the world has ever known.
Vladimir Levin
Vladimir Levin was an early hacker, and all things considered, an amazing one at that. He hacked Citibank in 1995 and stole approximately $10 million. What was astounding about the hack was that Levin didn’t use the internet. He used phone lines and listened in on people and bank employees exchange information.

Albert Gonzalez
Albert Gonzalez was one of the most notorious and prolific identity thieves of all time. He stole millions of credit and debit card accounts, which ultimately earned him 20 years in the prison.
Gary McKinnon
Gary McKinnon was a brilliant teenage computer prodigy from Scotland, who hacked into 97 U.S. military networks between 2001 and 2002. A big reason for his doing so was to prove the existence of extraterrestrial life. He is currently in an asylum in the U.K.
