Today, Ram V Chary takes a look at business leadership and management during one of the most trying times for companies – an economic crisis.
We have all undoubtedly seen our fair share of economic crises over the past decades. Some of these crises have been minor, while others have affected the global market altogether. The 2008 crisis in the U.S. financial markets saw countless businesses close shops down. Thousands more are struggling today to still maintain due to the economic crash.
Companies that maintained financial integrity through the 2008 economic crisis had business leaders and managers who had experience handling the situation, Ram V Chary explains.
The first step, of course, was to sense and foresee the oncoming disaster. The most experienced leaders did just that.
With the anticipation of a crisis, the most experienced business leaders and managers devised multiple contingency plans, including corporate restructuring and financial adjustments. Cost-saving initiatives and cost-effective measures were created for economic relief. Operations were suspended, and many jobs were lost, but it could have been much worse had these companies shut down entirely.
Ram V Chary notes that veteran business leaders presently learned and gained much experience as they could about the economic crisis, and they shared every bit of information they gathered with their employees.
This motivated workers to do their part in keeping their companies from sinking. The delegation of information is quite a somewhat inspiring leadership tactic, Ram V Chary adds.
