SO SAID JESUS...
Some years ago, after I was born again, I asked Our God what person in The Bible with whom I may associate my conversion with. So, I said a prayer, and turned to His Word in the New Testament. Thinking, Our Lord would have me compared to Saul’s immediate saving of his soul, or the casting out of the legion of devils of the man from within the tombs, or even the healing of the man’s lunatick son…Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ led me and humbled me to St. Luke 7:36-50…Thus so it reads, KJV….
And one of the Pharisees desired Him that He would eat with him. And He went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to (eat). And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat (eating) in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, And stood at His feet behind him weeping, and began to wash His feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed His feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee which had bidden Him saw it, he (spoke) within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that (touches) Him: for she is a sinner. And Jesus answering said (to) him, “Simon, I have (something) to say (to you). And he (said) Master, say on. “There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred (dollars), and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?” Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And He said unto him, “(You have) rightly judged.” And He turned to the woman, and said (to) him, “(You see) this woman? I entered into (your) house; (you) gave me no water for my feet: but she (has) washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. (You gave) me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in (has) not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil (you did) not anoint: but this woman (has) anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say (to you), Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same (loves) little.” And He said unto her, “(Your) Sins are forgiven.” And they that sat (eating) with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this that (forgives) sins also? And He said to the woman, (Your) faith (has) saved (you); go in peace.”
This conversion of Mary Magdalene was truly very straightforward in her own right. Mary’s humble acknowledgment of Our Lord’s pending death was from deep within her heart, soul, mind and spirit. Mary walked into a room full of men, something that was not done back then and thus continued a formation of events, (Also to be considered is the Annunciation made by The Angel Gabriel to Mary, the mother of Jesus, St. Luke 1:26-38, and also Jesus speaking alone with a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well, St. John 4:3-44, also to be known, when Our Lord arose from the grave, He appeared unto Mary Magdalene first of all before His disciples had known about His Resurrection, which indeed, the word of any mere woman back then was not to be considered or acknowledged, St. John 20:14-18.) all had a change in the history for the equalization of women. (And Jesus' acceptance of Mary Magdalene, a whore to be exact, a sinner of all sinners, was finally enough for Judas Iscariot to go to the chief priests to betray Jesus. In which the chief priests were glad, and promised to give Judas money for his act of betrayal. St. Mark 14:10-11) Mary’s compassion and humility surpassed many theologians understanding of her. For all of us now, no matter what we have done in our past, so said Jesus, “Your sins are forgiven.” “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
