When you take the time,
To smile my way,
And share your thoughts,
That is when I love you.
When you care for me,
With your gentle hugs,
And kiss me with feeling,
That is when I love to be near you.
When you listen patiently,
Taking the effort to hear my stories,
And then remember what I have said,
That is when I love sharing our time together.
When you work side-by-side with me,
With any little task,
And we blend together as one,
That is when I love to be with you forever.
What I Think of You,
Are only my feelings,
My dreams I will tell you in person,
Anything negative about you is immaterial to me,
For no one is perfect.
Only God is perfect.

With laughter in your eyes,
And a smile on your face
When you walk into our room,
We feel a special embrace,
At times,
We may upset you,
But we do not mean,
To make you feel blue,

Waves upon the shore,
Easy time of thoughts,

I touch Cheryl’s cheek,
And she smiles,
An angel in her sleep,
My God,
How she resembles her father,
With The Sand Man in her eyes,
The endearment on her face,
How I am loved by her,
So she cares for me,
As her father does,
And wonders when I am going to bed,
I can not lose,
For between the both of them,
I am well taken care of.

Heart of pink,
Amidst ivory slivers,
A tinge of underlying brown,
With chartreuse stems,
Reflecting light and extending finely downward,
For an earthy smell of clover,
Is in the air.
Bunches of pretty posies,
Picked From Small Hands,
Given as gifts,
To me,
And they are arranged,
Centered on the kitchen table,
For all to see,
Special treasures,
Heart within the thought,
My pretty wild flowers,
Grown from God’s sun.

Upon your face,
You know,
Just by looking,
The destiny of others,
Light of the moon,
Within your ebony eyes,
Sun shining, glinting,
Against your smooth charcoal hair,
How you foresee,
What lays ahead,
Knowing Words of Wisdom,
Features within a smooth and clear brown face,
Squaw woman,
Standing among the corn,
The Great Spirit has handed you insight,
And you have accepted easily what is given.

The gentleness of you,

On the left,
Noises from the street,

Nothing in particular,
Pine tree casting shade,
Wind blowing easy,
God’s breath,

Time by myself,
Enjoying my thoughts alone,
All going languid,
I listen to my mind,
And it feels clear,
No clouded memories,
Of life gone by,
Like the soft summer breezes,
The gentle cooing of the pigeons,
Sun shining on the world,
Love songs wafting from my radio,
A sky with billowing clouds,
Life is a renewal for me,
Created by God,
Thank you Lord Jesus,
For when I pray to you,
Within your own time,
You grant me peace,
Of my mind and thoughts,

Power of the Holy Spirit.

God is mighty with these gifts to us.

Upon the carpet,
From my hand,
Creating a game,
Of cat and mouse,
For you to follow,

This activity is your playground,

A Boxer-mix is your degree,
Your Hound like bark makes no sense,
But with this we can all agree,
You keep our house safe from all,
We brought you home from the pound,
A sick pup you became within a week,
And God has kept you safe and sound,
Because your life was not over yet,
Digging holes in the backyard,
Looking for goodies under the ground,
You bring to your bed for a proud display,
What you may find when we are not around,
Playing with the cat,
Is your favorite pastime,
And she always wins,
Tho’ you do not seem to mind,
Or you watch and follow me,
And sit beside my chair,
But if the gate is left open,
You run away without a care.

I have been smitten by you,

As an individual,

At one point in time,
In my life,

My Brother Mine
Because of you I know baseball,
Hockey, football, and how to skate,
My crib was no obstacle,
For you showed me my freedom,
You were my father image of life,
The one I looked to for guidance,
Even tho’ a child you were yourself,
But a friend who cared and taught me many things,
And those late night spooky movies were fun,
With salty buttery popcorn and ice water in the sun-room,
Scary stories you told us and watching Steve Allen on T.V., {Smok, Smok}
Along with the time you found my glass lens in the snow,
With our plays and the lip-syncing with the 45’s,
Hiking thru the woods and our train around the Christmas tree,
Charades and when you left to go camping and said you were never coming back,
And ‘The Matches Song’ I learned from you and taught my children how to sing,
With all of this I wish my childhood was less painful,
For I still remember the parents who did not stay together,
With some of the unhappy times that tore at my soul,
And I guess, that made me strong for this world,
For with the help from My Brother Mine,
I am confident within the Love and Faith in God,
Fearless now of the monsters in the basement,
Aggressive in every task I take on from life,
And confirmed that happiness must be from within to be content.

Contentment from within,
And knowing God,
