FRIENDS OF THE FRIENDLESS
How to humbly make silent friends, through love, compassion, and understanding.
Gift cards – Purchase gift cards for a set amount per month and to how many your budget will allow. While doing your local chores around town seek out the ones that may need your help – seniors, the homeless, the disabled, young adults, and needy families.
Special notes or one-page letters to encourage a co-worker, family member, priest/pastor, friends, past mentors…etc.
While driving, walking, and waiting in line, always have a friendly smile available for everyone. A patient attitude and kind words to show understanding. Even when you may not be doing well yourself: keep the faith, by doing this kindness and seeking God’s Face by talking, singing praises, and journaling, your pain will be eventually rewarded.
See what our American Red Cross, Senior Center, or any other worthy cause may need your material resources or financial help or just simply volunteer.
Local Churches: you may not know this; usually when individuals ‘disappear’ from your congregations, these people stop attending:
1) They feel that they just don’t belong.
2) No matter what they do or how hard they try ‘others’ shun them or treat them badly.
3) Too much good old boy and good old girl gossip going around.
It is time to repent and accept those who are ‘unusual’ or maybe ‘different’ than you.
Humbly accept these lambs as Jesus did into your churches as He had searched for that one lost sheep until He found it.
Luke 15:3-7 {Red Letter} ESV
So He told them this parables. "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.' Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."
