Sundays of the Year (Ritual notes)
Below are extra notes specific to individual Sundays through the liturgical year. Note that in any given year, the dates of Christmas and Easter will affect how many of the Sundays after Epiphany and Trinity actually occur. Also, some Sundays cab be displaced by a major solemnity that falls on or near that Sunday. These exceptions are all detailed in the Ordo published each year.
Sundays in order of occurrence
(including the Sundays in Christmastide, Epiphanytide and Trinitytide that do not occur in every annual cycle)
Holy Family - Sunday in the Octave of Christmas. If there is not one, the transferred to Dec. 30th.
Second Sunday of Christmas - Only when there are two Sundays in Christmastide
Epiphany - Typically moved from January 6th to the Sunday between Jan. 2nd and 8th.
Baptism of the Lord - Typically the Sunday following Epiphany, but moved to Monday the day after Epiphany when Epiphany is on Jan 7th or 8th
Epiphany II - The Sunday immediately following Epiphany when Epiphany is on Jan. 7th or 8th.
Epiphany III - Does not occur in every annual cycle
Epiphany IV- Does not occur in every annual cycle
Epiphany V- Does not occur in every annual cycle
Epiphany VI- Does not occur in every annual cycle
Corpus Christi - Typically transferred to the Sunday following Trinity Sunday
Trinity XXIII- Does not occur in every annual cycle
Trinity XXIV- Does not occur in every annual cycle
Trinity XXV to XXVIII- Do not occur in every annual cycle
