Our Lady of Walsingham

This is a feast traditionally observed on Sep 24th, but at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham it is the solemnity of title and transferred to the Sunday nearest to September 24th

The liturgical color is white (or blue)

The setting of the mass is Willan

The Gloria and the Creed are said

As a solemnity, the readings are intoned at the solemn mass (the Epistle by the acolyte if possible). At other masses the acolyte reads the Epistle.

The Preface is the Preface of the Blessed Virgin Mary - "on this our Patronal Festival" (DWM pg. 612)

The Institution of Acolytes is traditionally held on this day in the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter (see detailed ritual notes)
