JASON

Kevin Space....No, wait, It's Jason!

I am a grad student here at PNW. I got my bachelor's degree in English Literature in May '15. I was a dorky little kid and used to play school with my neighbor -- yes, for fun. So, I've always had a desire to get into the field of education.

I started in education and have taken several education courses. Several courses required me to work in schools and so I ended up with a bit of experience in grades 1-5. However, I suck at math and could never pass that damned math portion of the Praxis; the struggle is real. So, I changed lanes, so to speak, to a Lit degree. This new path has opened the option to, at least for a short while, teach college composition while I work on my grad degree. Should I ever wish to enter 9-12 that damned math portion of the teacher's test won't stop me getting licensed since grad graduates are excused from having to take those entrance tests.

I've also done my share of tutoring and working in the college classrooms here at PNW. As an SI, I have given many min-lessons and tutorials. I've given lessons on argument, rhetorical situations, sensory writing, MLA and APA documentation, and many other things.

As you might glean from the picture, I'm an avid outdoorsman. I fish, travel, and just love to be outside. If I were to ever win the lottery, I'd buy a house in Montana with a ton of acreage and waterfront property. I'm also a bit of a gamer, usually playing RPG-type games on my PC (Witcher 3 FTW!)

Glad to be a part of this wonderful class!
