Semester Exam December 2010

The Semester Exam for Photography class will be comprised of 1) a written exam over terms, technical aspects of photography and an oral identification of the parts of a camera and 2) a Student's Choice Project (below)

Photography Semester One Exam: Student’s Choice Project

New photographs must be taken - all photos must be taken with a digital camera. Students will do a Digital "Student's Choice" project. Students must complete all of the items with your choice of subjects. Choices will be 1) excellent quality Portrait or Still Life 2) excellent quality Architecture 3) excellent quality Landscape 4) Experimental (clear your concept with Mr. Langley first). Be creative and have fun. Students will have five class periods to complete this assignment – No Lates!!!

Points per print are as follows:

1. Creativity: 10 points (Original idea. Full credit given to concepts where thought has been given to details.)

2. Sharpness: 20 points (Subject is sharp and detailed.)

3. Arrangement: 10 points (Thought is given to the arrangement of both the subject and the lighting.)

4. Lighting: 20 points (Lighting is appropriate to the mood of the subjects.)

5. Photoshopping: 30 points touch-ups

6. Posting to student digital portfolio website on a page named Student Choice: 10 points

This project is worth a total of 400 points (100 points for each print). Each part of the assignment must be completed in order to receive credit. Incomplete assignments will not be scored.
