  • Permission Forms for the Walsworth workshop, money ($12 per person) and Pre-Arranged Absence Forms are due to Mr. Langley by today - give them to Mallorie.
  • PR updates - check the Photographer list. We need to make sure we get everything! We need to make sure all events are covered. Share our photos with Elizabeth and with journalism using Box.Net (Doug and Mallorie)
  • Remember to take a photo of your name before you take your photos. If we cannot tell who took the photos, you will not get credit. All camera cards need to be placed on Elizabeth's computer to be cleared off, and all cameras need to go back into the cabinet. Check battery power and charge as needed.
  • Photo Essay Assignment 5 is not done yet - be sure to have all parts of the assignment completed. Deadlines are important in yearbook. ALL blogs need to be updated by the end of class. We are moving forward this week. We will be looking at copy (writing articles) beginning on Thursday. I have noticed that there are 24 drafts in the blog - finish and post these.
    • Photo Essay Assignment 5: What it's like to be a high school secretary/cafeteria worker/janitor/maintenance person.
      • Follow the Rule of Thirds
      • 3 perfect candid photos of the same subject in different parts of the job with 5w's h & captions - tell a story.
      • You must TALK to the person to get the information for the 5w's +h
      • In your blog entry, write 3-4 sentences giving background information about the person's job experience that answers the 5w's +h
      • In your blog entry, write 3-4 sentences that tell how the person has grown or changed through working in the job.
  • Each student shows his/her blog on the smart board. Be sure to follow the following procedures for Student Critique of each blog post for Assignment 5:
    • yearbook staff: identify what was done well with each photo
    • yearbook staff: identify what might improve each photo
    • yearbook staff: identify what was done well with each caption
    • yearbook staff: identify what might improve each caption
    • yearbook staff: evaluate the 1st paragraph. Does it answer all of the questions? How can it be improved?
    • yearbook staff: evaluate the 2nd paragraph. How does this help us gain insight about the person who is the subject of the photo assignment?
