Assignment 6

New photographs must be taken - all photos must be taken with a digital camera. Students will upload the project photos to Picasa, create a Close-ups page on their Digital Portfolio sites, and embed the project photos on the Close-ups page. Excellent quality work is expected.

Close-ups: Take close-up shots of five different objects. Get up close to your subject. Pick an everyday object and focus on a small part of it. Get as close as your camera will allow you to focus and shoot away. Try for different angles and unusual lighting to add to the mystery of this tiny world - there is an entire world that we often overlook because we don't get close enough. Do remember to pay attention to your depth of field and focus when composing your images. Do not have any people recognizable in the image and remember to pay special attention to the lighting and background.

Be creative and have fun. Students will have until the end of class on May 11, 2011 to complete this assignment – No Lates!!!

Scoring for each photo is as follows:

1. Creativity: 10 points (Original idea. Full credit given to concepts where thought has been given to details.)
