Speech Homework For the week of September 25:

Objectives: Students will be able to identify and analyze the ethical and social responsibilities of communicators, identify the components of the communication process and their functions, explain the importance of effective communication skills in personal, professional, and social contexts, recognize the audience as an important element in building responsible communication skills, and realize the importance and impact of both verbal and nonverbal communication.

Monday:

Activity

  • Only a few students have emailed me a story for approval. It is mandatory that you email me for approval. This was an assignment due by noon yesterday.
  • Watch Sean Buvala break gestures into Intend, Activate, and Linger
  • Watch the following three storytelling videos and answer the questions below the video on paper to be turned in by the end of the period. In between each story, students need to turn to a partner for one minute and review the examples of Activate, Intend, and Linger that they saw in the story.
