The Bowdoin course starts at the Whittier Field where the runners do a
lap of the track and then out through the pines and across the campus,
striking into McKeon Street toward Portland for near a mile. They then
bear to the right across the railroad and the Portland and Brunswick Road
and run down along the Androscoggin River. Then up the stiff grade of
Standpipe Hill. The harriers cross the links of the Brunswick Country
Club and back into the Portland-Brunswick Road then doubling back to
McKen Street on their way to the campus field, one lap is turned and the
tape is in front of the grandstand.
