The benefits of working out in a group are not always immediately noticeable. Often, one has to try to join running groups or bicycle clubs and stick with defined or collectively decided schedules for months at least to see the benefits. Sometimes motivation will fall off due to time taken away from the family at home to exercise, personal motivation to getting to the group, and other environmental stressors. Don't let these possibilities present a barrier to joining either a group activity or engaging in exercise activities with family and/or friends. Kayla Kaiser has been involved with various bicycle clubs where ever we have lived. Mike Kaiser, over the years, has been involved with various running clubs. Together, both are now actively involved in community events for exercising and have experienced the following benefits: Increased engagement in the surrounding community, networking, environmental awareness, and most importantly--Exposure to different forms/regimes of motivation.
