Dear Mr. Fleeting,
I write in support of your campaign for “physical literacy” but also to air my concerns at the lack of effective strategy for attaining these aims. The current SFA plans focus on playing aspects of football and neglect the wider social aspects that affect match attendance. From my perspective, SFA plans appear to be deficient in the following areas:
[list what you feel is lacking or reword the following]
§ No required element in the Developing Talent Plan to encourage watching football at senior clubs
§ No strategic importance placed on the joint agreement with Government and School Authorities on educational/physical development objectives, to facilitate joint participation between clubs and local schools
§ No Implementation Plan that participating clubs can use to compliment the Developing Talent Plan
Also, I believe it is now time for radical rethinking of the SFA role so that the Youth Initiative can return real benefits in attendance as well as playing ability. Specifically the following needs to be addressed:
[insert a short list of what you think needs to change at the top level or what role the SFA has to fulfill]
Should I not receive a reply to this letter or if the SFA fails to address this matter and issue a statement confirming the SFA's intent to pursue these objectives, then I will be forced to conclude that these suggestions are not a priority of the SFA.
Were this to be the case, I regret that [insert the consequences - i.e what action you intend to pursue next].
I therefore urge you to give my suggestions serious consideration and look forward to receiving your reply.
Yours sincerely,
