Help Change Scottish Football has consistently promoted 3 areas where initiative is required to bring about change, but now there is a new need for initiative.
People want answers to questions and there are so many questions that this site cannot possibly hope to list them all. Some of more obvious ones can be found at Questions For The Governing Bodies.
Above all we need a new initiative from those who run the Governing Bodies. They can no longer deny that the time has come to end the speculation once and for all.
People everywhere want change. Real change. Not some tinkering master plan designed to be universally popular but innovative plan that demonstrates radical thinking.
The Scottish Football Review, Report, Part 1, or ‘Telephone Book’ if you prefer, has let the ‘expectation Genie’ out of the bottle. It’s a Robin Williams type Genie and it’s whizzing about up there, out of control and is making a mockery of all our attempts at change.
And now the Genie won’t go back in the bottle and it’s not likely to grant anyone 3 wishes.
So it falls to the newly appointed Chief Executive, Stewart Regan to lead us where others have failed to venture and address change. In keeping with the track record of public relation gaffs on senior appointments at the SFA, his opening salvo pointed to little more than cautionary toe dipping.
Stewart Regan needs to get the ball of change moving and he needs to do it in no uncertain fashion.
This is the new initiative that is required and we cannot wait forever for it to start.
So, there is a simple message for the new Chief Executive:
“when you step up to the Crease my friend, you’d better be ready to bat, and with your first stroke, hit that ball of change clean over the Boundary………If you don’t…….You are going to be out for a Duck.”.
Scottish football can’t afford for the work being undertaken by Campbell Christie to fail. Without the support of a framework for Corporate Governance - visit Downloads – it will simply be another poisoned chalice that becomes just another plan. Scottish football can’t afford for any plan to fail for that matter.
We can’t afford another Scottish Football Review and like the administrator of this site said to Henry McLeish:
“This is the SFA’s equivalent of a moon landing. You’ve never done it before and you have to get it right first time.”
In support of whatever plans are put forward by ‘Think Tanks. we need a properly structured plan that allows change to flourish so that all the other plans have a chance of success. Visit Downloads.
