With players in action at three different events (spread between 8 different sites), the Golden Eagles recorded another strong weekend of competition.

At Lincoln Way East's 16-team event, Ashley Kosy took 3rd at the first singles position and Shelley Seong played well at the second singles spot, but fell to the number one seed from Chicago's F.W. Parker. On the doubles side, Jacquelyn Hengler and Emily Halvorson battled hard all day to finish in sixth place with a 3-2 record...5 matches! Dena Kontos and Miranda Corbett also had a strong day at the second doubles spot, going 2-2 and finishing in fourth place. These girls left Jacobs at 6am and didn't return until nearly 8pm...awesome job, girls! A special thanks to Emma Nickoley, who, despite an injury that has kept her off the court, made the trip with us to support her team, great spirit, Emma!

Staying in the area, Rachael Buttolph, Emily Alessio, Megan Elliott, Morgan Vachio, Lauren Bayer and Bridget Burley played tough tennis (while moving around in the lineup) to earn our team a spot in the 3rd place match of the Dundee-Crown Invitational. Jen Regard and Miranda Curtis finished up their ACT testing just in time to join the squad and roll to a 4-0 victory in the third place match. Alina Zabolotico was on her way from the ACT but made it to Crown just minutes late to take part. Great teamwork everyone and ACT testers; thank you for making the effort to get to the courts following your ACT test (all 36s, I'm sure!) I appreciate it.

At Belvidere, the Golden Eagles edged out Rockford Boylan by one point for the second year in a row to take the team title. Individual champions include Mikaela Thomas & Sara Elliott at second doubles and Lauren Bayer & Kori Kent at third doubles. Ivana Mladenovic, Maggie Corbett, Hannah Jackowski, and Chloe Moders all played great tennis to help the brown and gold take home the hardware.
