It's good to do well, but better to do good.

In the videos below, I have added a story about the impromptu memorial tennis practice the Morton tennis team held for their coach, who recently passed. I only had the privilege of coaching against Coach Joal Stanfield once, but had the opportunity to speak with him at length. As a fellow elementary school teacher with three young children and only a couple years older than me, I found that Coach Stanfield and I also shared a great deal in terms of our coaching philosophy. I was absolutely shocked to hear of his sudden and unexpected passing last week. Watching this video helped remind me once more of the absolute importance of character over competition. His death is a tragedy and an unfathomable loss to the friends and family that love him, but the way he lived his life will be a lasting legacy to those whose lives he touched. Please take a moment to reflect on the video and consider the impact your actions and attitudes have on others. The message you send out echoes far beyond what you could imagine. Make your message a positive one and cherish every moment you have to share with the people you love.
