After starting off the season with a 5-2 win in Thursday's conference opener with McHenry, the boys began their non-conference schedule in style, putting together an outstanding day of tennis to put themselves ahead of some of the area's best programs.
With a championship singles performance by Kailash Panchapakesan, matching 3-1 finishes for Riley Rowan & Matt Toomire and Kendrick & Kerwin Chong, and a 2-2 result from Tom Opel, the Golden Eagles were able to edge out York HS for the team title. Rounding out the exceptionally competitive field were Barrington, Carmel, Lake Zurich, Andrew, and Fremd. This is the first time Jacobs has hoisted the team trophy of their own invitational. A sign of great things to come!
