The Double-Double Quad Cities' Quad

The girls spent the Columbus Day holiday on their traditional Moline trip. Hitting the road early, the team split squads to take on Moline before splitting squads again to play Rock Island Alleman later in the day. Both teams provided stiff competition. Moline, who was recently crowned conference champions for a stunning twelfth straight year in a row, boasted strong players across the board, but fell to Jacobs in a team effort. Sophomore Ashley Kosy avenged a loss from a year ago to Moline's Olivia Ray in decisive fashion, beating the Senior Maroon 6-0, 6-1 at first singles.

The Golden Eagles enjoyed similar success despite playing on a decidedly unhealthy diet of cupcakes and apple cider doughnuts when they took on Alleman in the afternoon. The play, of course, remained secondary, however to the annual stop at Whitey's Ice Cream Parlor, where we loaded up on more unhealthy food, completing the bad-diet trifecta, before starting the three-hour return trip.
