The concept of Sustainability of Consciousness is based upon the three-level model of sustainability which includes environmental, socioeconomic, and personal levels. Social and economical are interdependent parts of the same level. All three levels are interdependent and help each other to evolve. Sustainable strategies for all levels are classified as external and internal, for resource management and for waste management. A key for effective sustainable strategies for society and the environment is sustainability on a deeper personal level. Connections between social and economical aspects of sustainability are considered in relation to personal aspects which are sustainability of consciousness and human potential. Management of modern problems of informational impact on consciousness is taken into account. The necessity of creating laws, regulations, and strategies for Sustainability 3.0 is pointed out. Socio-economic structures at all levels of society from local to global are encouraged to integrate their efforts for the common goal of sustainability of consciousness. This super-disciplinary concept is built on the basis of the concepts of Global Sustainability Education and Global Systems Thinking. It integrates Philosophy and Ethics of Sustainability, Systems Thinking, System Dynamics, Sociology, Economy, Psychology, and Environmental Ecology.
Sustainability is a human attempt to create systems similar to natural ones and to integrate man-made systems into the sustainable environment. During centuries of evolution nature gradually developed a comparatively sustainable balance. Now it is the turn of “second nature” (human civilization) to find a sustainable balance with nature. Sustainability is the tool for social evolution, a way of integrating of “second nature” creations into the world for a better way of co-existence.
The concept of Sustainability of Consciousness connects together intellectual and spiritual aspects of human potential development represented on this website. Global Thinking Development Сourses provide for the development of Global Systems Thinking abilities, Nature Connection Workshops provide for healthier body energy and spirit connection with natural environments and then to the entire world. They are parts of an integrated inner and outer strategy for the development of sustainable consciousness. Actually, a combination of them will be beneficial for better success in both: creativity developed by connection with nature will bring insights for Global Systems Thinking; reaching a better understanding of patterns of systems’ organization and development in the world will enrich anyone’s spectrum of abilities of emotional connection with the many varieties of the world’s beauty.
