MLC 121: Elementary Chinese I 

The fundamentals of grammar and oral communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and simple characters of the writing system.

Prerequisites: Placement into MLC 121.

MLC 122: Elementary Chinese II 

The fundamentals of grammar and oral communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and simple characters of the writing system continued.

Prerequisites: MLC 121 or placement into MLC 122.

MLC 221: Intermediate Chinese I 

Grammar review and expansion, culture, oral communication and reading of simple texts in both standard and simplified characters.

Prerequisites: MLC 122 or placement into MLC 221.

MLC 222: Intermediate Chinese II 

Continued grammar review and expansion, culture, oral communication and reading of simple texts in both standard and simplified characters.

Prerequisites: MLC 221 or placement into MLC 222.
