New Digital Citizenship
Howdy! As you know, the past 2 years I've been using my "old" content for Digital Citizenship. While I'm fairly OK with the self-paced online course for staff for now, the student portion is really out of date.
As you know, the District is mandated to accomplish the following in regards to Digital Citizenship due to eRate compliance requirements:
- Teach 2 cybersafety lessons - Two cybersafety lessons are taught to ALL PreK - 12 students using appropriate curriculum by a campus professional.
- Complete the self-paced online course - All campus professional educators, specifically, teachers, teacher-librarians, and campus administrators, complete the self-paced online course. Watch video introduction.
- Certify Campus Completion - The campus principal certifies steps 1 and 2 have been done via completion of an online form.
TASK
Your task is to upgrade the cybersafety lessons that have to be taught to all students, component #1 above, re-setup the campus completion for 2014-2015 school year, and update the web staff self-paced online course (or replace it). You have complete autonomy on this provided you have the 3 components above.
TIMELINE
This program should be ready to launch by the first day of school.
RESOURCES
Some resources you should consider include ESC-20 Digital Citizenship resources, CommonSense Media, as well as other free sources.
BUDGET
There is no budget identified for this project. Everything must be available at no cost and usable under copyright law.
COMMUNICATION
