Questions that Lead to SuccessThis page addresses the following questions:

  1. What is technology's role in learning, especially how to achieve a digital age learning environment?
  2. How can we manage technology efficiently and effectively?
    1. Purchase the right technology
    2. Support it properly
  3. Ensure continuous learning opportunities for new and existing staff
    • Provide professional learning opportunities for all staff

Responses that Lead to Success

To answer these questions, the District has put various resources in place centered around a comprehensive vision centered around 3 areas:

  1. Teaching & Learning - This encompasses all staff and students.
    1. Professional Learning Matrix: This outlines professional learning for all district staff that includes blended (e.g. online, hybrid) learning AND face to face for all staff.
    2. Continuum of Teaching and Learning with Technology provides a framework for forward movement and growth.
    3. The EC Way Framework for Learning Activities codifies high standards for all learning activities in classrooms and training rooms.
  2. Infrastructure - This encompasses a plan for achieving the following:
    1. Campus Blueprints: Refresh of equipment in computer labs to support state interventions and assessments after 5 years,
    2. CIP Learning with Technology: Alignment of all purchases of classroom equipment to Campus Improvement Plans (CIPs), or as we call them, "Continuous Improvement Plans,"
    3. Establishing Multi-Year Equipment and Infrastructure Upgrades (e.g. servers, switches, routers, phone systems) to better manage long-term growth aligned to top priorities for the ECISD that directly support technology.
  3. Technical Support - This includes a plan for continuous improvement and improved staff learning opportunities for technical staff, as well as standards for addressing issues.

Finally, assessing holistic progress is important.
