ECISD Vision

East Central students will become successful, responsible, and productive citizens with a strong sense of community and a respect for cultural diversity. Embodying the American tradition of personal responsibility coupled with a sense of generosity and caring, they will become lifelong learners through the support of the education community and through their own academic endeavors. As tomorrow's leaders, they will achieve to their maximum potential in safe, orderly schools with high learning standards and opportunities for real-world applications of their acquired skills.

ECTO Mission

Our mission: to connect, inspire and nurture learners in the ECISD through the strategic use of technology in teaching, learning and leading situations.

Technology-Enhanced Services

These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Communicate quickly, honestly and accurately, collaborate, and strive to help the team achieve success to the benefit of the organization.
  2. Focus on achieving technologically-based benefits for the school district.
  3. Be unafraid to do what hasn't been done before and encourage others to do so as well.
  4. Be action-oriented and results-driven in seizing opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness and improvement.
  5. Achieve daily tasks in an orderly fashion, managing conflicting priorities and communicating with others.
  6. Work independently without supervision to achieve job responsibilities and goals.
  7. Working independently without supervision in accomplishing individual job responsibilities and goals.
  8. Maintain students and staff, their technological activities, as well as their identities, safe and secure

Primary Goals

Goal 1: Empower Exceptional Teaching, Learning and Leading with Technology

Empower--through modeling and guidance, support, and resource-sharing--how technology can redefine communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical-thinking & problem-solving skills (e.g. P21.org) beyond the bounds of the classroom and curriculum offices in collaboration with campus technology coordinators, and district curriculum directors and specialists.

Goal 2: Enhance Network Infrastructure and Mobile Learning

Expand the District’s network connectivity and infrastructure to support wireless access across the District--along with timely technical support--to ensure connected learning experiences for students and staff, and expand support for mobile learning initiatives such as Voice Over IP (VOIP) for phone systems, Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT), EC3 iPad Cohorts, eLearning (e.g. Edmodo), and video conferencing tools (e.g. desktop video and Texas Education Telecommunication Network (TETN)).

Goal 2: Device Imaging and Integration

Design, image, and integrate all network and application software on end-user devices including desktops, laptops, tablets, eReaders, and all other devices that run on and connect to the network.

Goal 3: Technical Support Services

Provide onsite campus and department services for all technology devices including software, hardware, printers, peripherals, and customer support.

Goal 4: Enterprise Systems Integration

Manage, support, and maintain all enterprise application software including GoogleApps for Education, Active Directory, and other critical district services (e.g. Student Accounting, Business Services, Payroll, Insurance, Finance, Benefits, and Human Resources).

Goal 5: Acquisition, Assets, and Sustainability Purchase all technology hardware and software, track and manage technology assets, and provide technology service and repair for all technology devices including software, hardware, and peripherals
