JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Technology Operations Manager
The position of Technology Operations Manager will be available immediately. Employees of the district may

Primary Purpose: Install and maintain servers (including VMware/VSphere), computer equipment, network and software applications throughout the district as well as assist campus technicians on-site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate VMWare server maintenance and support, as well as assist in the installation of network hardware (including wireless network), and recommend changes in technology-based systems to effect improvements, reduce costs, and improve efficiency on a district-wide basis.
- Responsible for the direction, management, maintenance and support of virtualized servers (e.g. VMWare, VSphere), and Storage Area Network (SAN) in a Cisco-based solution environment.
- Install/upgrade operating systems on GNU/Linux, Windows, Macintosh computers, as well as mobile devices (e.g. iOS, Android), and configure them to work with local and wide area networks.
- Research and prepare technical specifications for microcomputers, printers and other microcomputer related products to be installed on ECISD networks, as well as liason with vendors.
- Perform tasks related to basic network connectivity including: constructing and installing patch cables, running wires through ceilings, down walls and installing raceways, termination of cat 5E jacks, tracing network connections, and troubleshooting and replacing nonfunctional connections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least 3 years experience in setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting computers/laptops/printers and other peripherals.
- Experience supervising staff to achieve organization objectives.
- Experience with Active Directory, and Open Directory preferred.
- Experience with PC and Mac OS Desktops and Laptops, as well as mobile devices (e.g. iOS, Android).
- Possess and retain a valid state of Texas driver’s License and be acceptable to the East Central School District insurance issuing authority for the operations of school district vehicles in the performance of assigned duties.
Equipment used: Computer, service tools, motor vehicle, telephone.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Climbing, stooping, bending, heavy lifting, and
kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; frequent district-wide travel between
schools. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Normal classroom/office environments, and work around
electrical energy.
Period of Employment: 260 days
Salary: As per district salary schedule
