Campus Technology Coordinator

Goal:

The Campus Technology Coordinator (CTC) shall, under the joint supervision of the Campus Principals and the Director of Instructional Technology, ensure that technology is carefully and appropriately managed at the campus, including serving as a first responder for campus work orders and technical troubleshooting.

Stipend: $1500 per year

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree with a valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
  2. Understand technical computer terminology.
  3. Knowledge of basic personal computer operation.
  4. Demonstrated organizational skills.
  5. Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  6. Knowledge in computer software packages to include, but not be limited to, GoogleDocs, Edmodo, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics and other software necessary for the mission of the campus.
  7. Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to follow oral and written instructions in a structured environment.
  9. Ability to perform assigned duties and responsibilities with limited supervision.
  10. Ability to work with others and maintain an effective working relationship with coworkers, supervisors, school personnel, and the public.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Model teaching strategies in the classroom with students, which integrate technology and content objectives.
  2. Be responsible for required record keeping and preparation of reports and documents required by the Department of Instructional Technology.
  3. Manage/organize technology equipment and mobile devices at the campus under the direction of the Principal. Duties may include, but not be limited to, the:
    • Install computers, install software, install printers, install drivers, troubleshoot sound issues, troubleshoot computer issues (various), troubleshoot print issues, troubleshoot raptor, troubleshoot audio recordings (DAC), troubleshoot phones,
    • Configure systems like LANSchool, Deep Freeze,
    • Update computers, test computers for TestNav and other testing requirements, set-up wifi for students/staff/visitors, remove broken equipment, check warranty status on technology, replace LCD bulbs and clean filters (non mounted),
    • Troubleshoot LCD issues, document camera issues, ITCCS issues, downgrade upgrades, troubleshoot issues with gmail, train staff/students on gmail, train staff/students on School Fusion, train staff/students on Edmodo, assist staff using Eduphoria,
    • Add videos to video distribution systems, create surveys to add to SF, cable management, complete inventory, complete deletions, order equipment, request quotes for staff/departments, replace batteries,
    • Spend budget according to campus needs, advise departments/staff on purchases.
  4. Serve as a first responder to technical issues--such as the ones above--that arise on campus via work orders, assigning work orders to technicians if the CTC is unable to respond.
  5. Maintain a clean state for all devices assigned, keeping them free from dust, etc.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Demands:

  1. Physical tasks – Frequent: standing, walking, bending, carrying, lifting-lowering: 50 lbs.+, repetitive motion: hand-wrist
  2. Physical Exposure – Minimal: cold, heat, and dampness
  3. Chemical Exposure – chemicals related to electronics cleaning and lubrication products (Freon, trichlorotrifluoroethane, methylene chloride, silicone) and various other common household cleaning products.
  4. Sensory Ability Needs – Significant: near vision, color discrimination, depth perception;
  5. Psychological – Significant: sense of urgency, working closely with others.
