Are Lyme Disease (Borrelia) Spirochetes

Carried or Transmitted by Anything

But a Tick?

Yes, Lyme and other Borrelia spirochetes are carried by potential vectors other than ticks. In some cases it has not been confirmed if the vectors (mosquitoes, flies, mites, etc) can transmit the spirochetes to animals or humans. There are some studies that indicate this may be possible, but more research is needed. In the meantime, do not rule out the possibility.

Please see the abstracts below describing findings by various researchers, and their conclusions.
